3.5 days in the city. 103,216 steps walked. 42.76 miles ventured. 64 flights of stairs climbed. And a 6-hour flight delay. This sums up my trip to New York City! My sister recently became a NYC resident and what better way to wrap up my summer than by hopping on a flight and jet setting to the city for a few days? I’ve never felt more exhausted in my life — definitely didn’t have to feel guilty about skipping out on a week of barre…because this was a crazy leg workout itself. And, it felt like every day was a 12-hour session of hot aerobics! Can you say holy hot?! Light clothing and the half up/half down hairstyle is the look I rocked the entire time, plus my trusted pair of Converse that stuck with me along the way. Luckily, a mani/pedi and massage helped bring my limbs back to life (and left my fingers and toes happy little campers)!
This was actually my first real time exploring New York, and I can honestly say that I hit every major “must see” area. If the perfect host/tour guide existed, it would totally be my sister. From venturing to every single place south and west of East Village on Monday, to Time Square and the Upper East/West Side on Tuesday, to Brooklyn and beyond on Wednesday, and then just strolling like a local on Thursday (and walking the High Line and grabbing a macaron), I got the best of the city that doesn’t sleep and grabbed some awesome bites around town (see Food Diary)! I loved spending quality sister time since who knows when the next time I’ll get the opportunity to.
I’ll also say that I began to learn my way from walking from point A to Z everyday, and loved every minute of it.
Now to the good part: the photos.
It’s been real NYC, I’ll be back soon.
