Behind everything, there’s a story. Whether it’s a place, a person or a photo—there’s something intriguing about how it got there and what it took to do so.
I’m a metro Detroit native who’s ventured the heart of Detroit before, but every time is a new story. The city is ever-changing and thriving in these times. Detroit is on the rise. Not only are the establishments and public transit systems getting a face lift, but the reputation as well. So, what do I love most about this city? The character. Within every small shop, underground restaurant or even across the city view, there’s an emotional connection that is so unique it can only be felt in that actual moment. As if you had to be there to experience it for yourself.
This past Sunday was spent exploring the cultured city of Detroit with my best friend. The essentials for the day? Good company, a creative pair of eyes and our trusted cameras. Okay, and a rockin’ outfit. The 70 degree weather allowed me to break out my high-waisted shorts and classic gladiators. Welcome back. I also got to sport my new two-toned hat and cropped sweatshirt, both that I got for a steal!
Not only did this daytime adventure allow me to find myself amongst an entirely different scene so carefree, but it was inspiring—from the people we met to the views we discovered. As I captured an array of street art and monumental snapshots around Eastern Market at The D String to The Joe (and everywhere in between), Red Follows Her Bliss captured these artsy shots of me below…which truly are pure bliss.
