Take Me Back to Sunshine & Sunday Brunch

It’s an understatement to say that this harsh weather is reeling in the winter blues. From the negative degree temperatures to the slippery, snowy roads; it may be hard at times to recall what the warmth felt like. Luckily, the seasonal change doesn’t affect the way my palette works. Well, except for the past few days since I’ve been hunkered away at home with the flu. I guess it can be a blessing and a curse that it happened when it did. Why? Because I had this entire week off from work already, which means no missed days of work. BUT, at the cost of it was a handful of get togethers with old friends.

As I’m sitting here cozied up on the couch with my little babes, I’m reminiscing all of the good eats I’ve come across this year. I mean, chicken noodle soup, popsicles, and mashed potatoes have been great these past few days (sarcasm) but I’m itching for a bit more rich and flavorful…

If you knew me well, you’d know that most of my pictures on my phone, camera and/or laptop nowadays consist of either my dog or drool-worthy foods. Today I came across these gems from April, back when my bestie Erin came to town. Let’s just say, Commonwealth in Birmingham did us really well for brunch this day. Oh, and also, their Chorizo Hash is outrageously out of this world. End of story.
